About ARAU

Founded by a group of distinguished professors, ARAU draws inspiration from the visionary journey of Acharya Sookdeo Ramsamooj. His transformative vision began in 1953, challenging conventional Hindu practices and fostering education in Trinidad.

A pioneer in holistic learning, Acharya Ramsamooj, Trinidad’s first certified pandit in Hindi, established the region’s inaugural Hindi school despite a lack of electricity in Carolina Village. His community-focused initiatives, including welding courses for youths and creating the Indian orchestra Navrang, earned national and international recognition.

Honored posthumously with the “Acharya Ramsamooj Arya lecture series” at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, his legacy fuels ARAU’s commitment to holistic education. Named in his honor, ARAU embodies his relentless dedication to cultural enlightenment and progressive education paradigms.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish a pioneering university guided by Pandit Ramadheen Ramsamooj’s Super Accelerated Learning Theory (SALT) and the evolving tertiary landscape.

We focus on holistic graduate development—spiritually, intellectually, physically, mentally, and emotionally (SIPME)—by merging Vedic and Western cultures for creativity and academic excellence.

Rooted in rich East-West educational traditions, we prioritize rigorous standards, interdisciplinary knowledge, and holistic student growth, fostering civic virtue and individual freedom.

Our Vision

Our vision is to propagate Prof. Pandit Ramadheen Ramsamooj’s S.A.L.T. school model and educational system across institutes, public/private schools, universities, and examination councils in Massachusetts and beyond.

This system, adapted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and other tertiary institutions, facilitates early graduation and is replicable, adaptable, and sustainable across various locations. Tailored to honor children’s physical and psychological development, it spans disciplines like science, technology, medicine, business, languages, music, arts, and philosophy, revolutionizing global education regardless of cultural or national origins.
