Our Differentiators

We focus on holistic graduate development—spiritually, intellectually, physically, mentally, and emotionally (SIPME)—by merging Vedic and Western cultures for creativity and academic excellence.
A rich blend of eastern and western educational traditions, we prioritize rigorous standards, interdisciplinary knowledge, and holistic student growth, fostering civic virtue and individual freedom.

Our Purpose

Modern educational institutions tend to focus on a material goal and are job-oriented. Holistic development of students, if at all included, usually takes a backseat. However, we believe that is all set to change with a promising shift on the horizon for global education. The new millenium is seeing tertiary education evolve into simpler, more cost-effective systems. Universities will adapt to becoming more compact, internet-friendly spaces that will welcome both global students and global teachers. The product of these universities will be students who are contented, happy, healthy, productive, and independent.

Acharya Ramsamooj Arya University (ARAU) was set up to reflect this paradigm shift in global education and to create an exemplary model for other universities to follow.

Vinay Ramsamooj

MA Shastriya Sangeet

The ARAU graduation in December 2023 showed me that with a little focus on mymusic and consistent effort that I was able to complete all the requirements including thesis for my MA degree While the whole world was afflicted with the pandemic, I Shifted my focus on music and self study and self improvement. With a graduating class of over 30 students proved that EIMA’s curriculum and teachings are nationally recognized and that ARAU and UMass put their seals on the certificates. This shows that pursuing music is not just a hobby, but can definitely be a worthwhile task and hasmany benefits with no side effects. A few weeks after graduation, I felt a void and quickly realized that I needed to set another goal for a higher degree. And now I am actively learning and researching and looking forward to another graduation shortly.

Savitri Chankersingh

MA Shastriya Sangeet

Attending Acharya Ramsamooj Arya University (ARAU) and its affiliate school, East Indian Music Academy Inc. (EIMA), contributed significantly to my academic and personal growth. At ARAU, I gained academic knowledge, honed critical thinking skills, and discovered new passions and interests. I met and interacted with students from all three universities that helped to expand my knowledge of Aryuvedic and Holistic healing and living, an interest in learning Sankrit and exchanging my current musical talents with students from these two other departments. This academic growth was crucial for my future endeavors and involved further studies, career advancement, and personal enrichment. Meanwhile, my experience at EIMA contributed to a deeper understanding and appreciation for music. Music has a unique ability to enrich lives, offering emotional expression, cultural connection, and opportunities for collaboration and creativity. My involvement with EIMA has challenged my understanding of music theory, expanded my musical repertoire, and connected me with like-minded individuals who share the love of music. Additionally, over the many years; EIMA provided an avenue, whereby, all students, myself included; had the opportunity to perform and overcome stage fright, improve public speaking skills and manage large scale events from start to finish. Moreover, the combination of academic pursuits at ARAU and a musical education at EIMA provided me with a well-rounded experience. Engaging in both academic studies and artistic endeavors fostered creativity, discipline, and adaptability, all of which are valuable skills in various aspects of life. I have become confident and more culturally aware, also more adept at balancing various responsibilities. Whatever the case may be, it’s evident that my journey at both institutions has played a vital role in shaping who I am today.
